Exotic ski touring is a small luxury that we can allow to ourselves in Italy. Skiing in Sicily on Etna between traditions and ancient cultures, on a volcano that in addition to skiing still gives many other emotions.
Program

1st Day
Meeting point in Rome on Friday to take the flight to Catania, departure at 8:35 pm to be in Catania at 9:50 pm (possibility of meeting point directly in Catania). Dinner in a typical restaurant and evening of relaxation in the historic center of Catania

2nd Day
Transfer to Linguaglossa (Etna Nord) by rented car or minibus.
ESki mountaineering excursion: Departure from the Citelli Refuge at an altitude of 1700. Ascent through the Serra delle Concazze to the Pizzi Deneri Volcanological Observatory at an altitude of 2840.
Gap: 1140 m.
Dinner and overnight in Linguaglossa in B&B or Refuge (based on availability of seats).

3rd Day
Ski mountaineering excursion to the Central Crater 3340m ascending from Linguaglossa, on the northern slope
Dinner and overnight in Linguaglossa in B&B.

4th Day
Ski mountaineering excursion to Central Crater 3340m from Piano Provenzana, descent through one of the beautiful canals (more or less steep) that lead to Piano Provenzana from the top.
Gap: 1500 m (950 m if you use the ski lifts)

5th Day
Ski mountaineering excursion or off-piste day descending through the channels of the Bove valley using the Piano Provenzana lifts.
Transfer to Catania to take the plane at 6:20 pm to be in Rome at 7:40 pm.
Technical requirements
The program can be modified or interrupted by the mountain guide due to the insufficient technical level of the participants or for meteorological reasons.
Equipment
- Complete ski touring set (skis with ski mountaineering bindings, skialp boots, skins suitable for your skis, ...)
- Ice ax (max length 60 cm)
- classic anti-bot crampons
Clothing:
- Sunglasses for high mountain / glacier
- Cap
- Buff – Foulard
- High mountain gloves
- Breathable T-shirt
- Fiber turtleneck sweater
- Windstopper or fleece jacket
- Waterproof jacket (ex: Gore-tex, pac-lite, conduit…)
- Mountain pants in schoeller
- Mountain socks
Inside the backpack [30/40 lt maximum]:
- One fiber T-shirt
- Thermal pants
- A pair of mountain socks
- Ski mask
- Extra light gloves
- A headlamp with new batteries
- Personal pharmacy kit (compeed patch, aspirin, high protection sunscreen, ...)
- Waterproof overpants (ex: Gore-tex, pac lite, conduit, k-way)
- Camera
- 1 lt bottle or Thermos
- Paper towels
- Sleeping bag liner
Included
Accompaniment of a mountain guide for the duration of the trip
NOT Included
Transfers, flights, board and lodging, optional insurances (request information), lunches, personal equipment, personal expenses (calls, drinks, laundry etc.) and in any case all that not mentioned in "Included".
In case of modification of the itinerary due to causes external to the organization (adverse weather conditions, technical level of the participants, etc.) the unforeseen expenses will be debited to the participants.
Any missing material may be provided by Mountain Evolution based on availability or rented.
