Trek della Majella
Description
The long crossing of the Valle di Fara up to Monte Amaro is one of the most challenging for the length of the route and considered the 2400 meters in altitude to be tackled: the highest you can do in the entire Apennine range!

The extreme isolation, the bivouac in the cave and the bivouac in Monte Amaro make the experience extreme, unique and unforgettable.

Program

  • 1st Day
    Meeting point in Chieti Scalo in the morning at 7.00.
    Cequipment ontrol and food subdivision. After leaving a car near the station, transfer to Fara San Martino.
    9 am Start of excursion From Fara San Martino m450 - Valle di Santo Spirito to the Grotta dei Porci 1735m. Water supply and cave accommodation.
    Gap: 1250m .
    Hours of walking 6.
    Bivouac in the cave.
  • 2nd Day
    Grotta dei Porci 1735m – Valle Cannella – Monte Amaro 2793m.
    Gape 1100m.
    Hours of walking 6.
    Overnight Pelino Bivouac on the summit.
  • 3rd Day
    Monte Amaro 2793m– Monte Pescofalcone 2646m– Sant’Eufemia a Maiella 913m.
    Descendig gap: 1700m.

    Option B: return to Fara San Martino for Cima Pomilio - Vallone di Fara. Different itinerary of the ascent.
This crossing allows you to leave a car in Chieti and return with a public transport from Sant'Eufemia to Chieti. For this reason we prefer to finish the trekking on Monday.

Informazioni BECAUSE OF THE FEW PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN HOLIDAYS: ALL THE CROSSES PREVIOUS TO LEAVE A CAR AT THE POINT OF ARRIVAL. The points of arrival of the crossings are designed to make minimum travel by car.

All excursions and crossings provide for great lengths and gradients. They are suitable for those who already have mountain experience. The bivouacs provide a great spirit of adaptation. The equipment must always be carefully studied to reduce weight and keep warm especially on overnight stays.

Technical requirements
Very demanding. Excellent training and adaptability.
The program can be modified or interrupted by the mountain guide due to the insufficient technical level of the participants or for meteorological reasons.

In case of modification of the itinerary due to causes external to the organization (adverse weather conditions, technical level of the participants, etc.) the unforeseen expenses will be debited to the participants.

  • Sleeping bag (-5 / -10) not bulky and of little weight

Personal provisions to share

  • Consider 2 dinners in bivouac and three lunches. Contact the organization for food subdivision. In principle: biscuits, energy bars, dried fruit, chocolate, tea bags, sugar (a small bag), 2 freeze-dried knorr-type soups every two people, bread, sweet cheese, some fresh fruit, tomatoes, etc..
  • Light and removable mountain stove, multipurpose knife, spoon, fork, light bowl, saucepan, matches.
