Ski Mountaineering Advanced
Description

The course is aimed at those who have already attended the basic course or with good experience and tecnique in ski mountaineering, and good physical condition.

Objective
We'll improve both your off-piste skiing skill and your ascending ability using ski skins, to make you able to face challenging trips.
You will be instructed in how to evaluate the snow conditions to face this discipline having fun and safely.

Topics

  • nivology and avalanches, rescue and self-rescue techniques in case of avalanche blown over multiple people
  • ascending technique using ski skins and off-piste ski technique on challenging terrains, safe (hook climbing) descent on steep downhills
  • topography, orienteering, and leading of a ski mountaineering trip (choose of itenerary, leading of the team, tracing)

Equipment
LVS, skis or table and ski mountaineering boots, snowboarders need snowshoes or split board, harness, 12-tips classic crampons, classic ice ax, 1 Petzl-type descender mod. Reverso, four ring-type carabiners, two 120 cm webbing, one 80 cm accessory cord in Kevlar®.

NOTES
The cost includes the guide fee and the use of the common material (ropes, referrals, etc), any room and board are not included.
Missing material may be provided by Mountain Evolution.
The course requires a minimum number of participants, if this is not achieved, the program will be canceled or performed with the integration of the fee from the members.
